In need of something new and different for dinner this weekend? I have just the thing for you. After my past weekend spent in the Southside area of Fort Worth with my fiancé’ Stacy, I have two hotspots for you. Read on to see where they are, what to get, and why you need to go there right now.

Four Sisters- A Taste of Vietnam

1001 S. Main St. Suite #151 Fort Worth, TX 76104

Saturday evening Feb 19th at 630pm Stacy and I come in with a prior RSVP which was really smart as this place was at a 50 minute wait time upon our arrival and it stayed busy our whole stay. People know this place is good obviously! A smaller set up inside with seating for about 30 people or so. A back patio for 12–15 is also available but on this chilly night we opted for inside. Our table for two was already set and had the food on the way out for me to get all the usual photos of before we got to the digging in. Tracey (male) the GM was a way cool dude let me tell you. Super kind and helpful all evening long. Chef Tuan Pham is a true whiz when it comes to using traditional recipes and classically used ingredients to produce true Vietnamese cuisine. I was even told be Pham that he uses a 16 hour simmered beef broth in his beef noodle pho’ and he also milks down his rice before drying it out to a fine powder to then make his noodles with. You taste the difference in every slurp and bite! The shaken beef and grilled pork over rice dish are must try entrees and of course the famous house beef noodle pho as well. Photo Album

Wabi House Fort Worth (menu only, no active website available)

1229 8th Ave Suite 227, Fort Worth, TX 76104

Sunday evening Feb 20 (prior to Presidents Day) Stacy and I meet up here at 6pm after her 12 hour work day at hospital and the place is a hopping! Good thing we had an RSVP here also as this place too was busy and getting busier by the minute. They have inside dining and outside patio space available for patrons to pick from. The patio is really nifty I must say with a full bar and perimeter seating, lounge sofas for small groups and corner stools with tables as well. All with a nice 3rd floor view of 8th street. Inside has a nice little energetic vibe going on with house tunes, swanky wooden-like decor, in a modern and classy way. The inside seats about 60 and the patio about 30 or so I would say. Amanda is the GM and she was also our primary host for the evening making sure we got all the items we had asked to try out for this first visit. Class act gal who treated us like VIP’s for sure. Everything from drinks, to apps, to noodle bowls was fantastic and unique. Unlike anything we have had elsewhere. The Shoyu and Spicy Ramen bowls were on point. The Beets & Brussels appetizer is a must try as you all know how I crave me a good brussel sprout sprout plate. The beef and pork yakitori skewers were both very tasty as well. Do not miss the daily 3–7pm happy hour apps and drinks menu either by the way!

If you are in search of something off the beaten path, something different, something affordable, pleasing, interesting and just all round good… either of these spots will fit the bill and then some. Just be sure to call ahead and make an RSVP for either one on the evenings they are open to assure you get a spot and avoid long waits.
