San Angelo, TX Twin Peaks.

After three prior visits for happy hour drinks, I finally made it into our local San Angelo Twin Peaks Sports Lodge and Restaurant to experience the foods on the newly upgraded, slightly slimmed down menu they have in place since going corporate versus franchise ownership.

Inside video of the interior back patio space.

Peyton Teutsch, the marketing coordinator, got me hooked up with Brad Seyda, GM of this Twin Peaks location. Stacy, my fiance’, her son Owen, and I came in together on a Friday night to accept the invitation to debut the new grubs they have going on here. Now we share that experience with you to allow you to see what awaits locals and tourists alike who live here or who come to town and want to find an amazing sports bar for a place to eat, drink, hang out, and catch a game, or enjoy some live music.

6 pm on a Friday night the place is hopping. Not slammed but busy yes. We got seated very quickly in the back patio area that has big retractable doors for nice warm days but also has heaters and a small circular enclosed fire pit to keep the space warm on cool nights like this one. A full bar is available in the patio space as well I should note. The live music stage is also located back here as well.

We placed our order with Alliyah, our server, who was awesome. Keeping a close eye on our needs all night long to assure we had what we needed at all times. We ordered quite a few dishes to really get a good sample across the dinner menu of some of our favorites. These included what you see here. It did take about 30 minutes from order to food arrival but we had a big order of course and it was busy so I give some understanding to the long wait time. It was well worth the wait once we got it, I tell ya that now.

The half-smoked, beer-can chicken was the star among all of us. Delicious! Moist, smokey, herbal, all-round good! My sirloin steak was a perfect medium. The steak salad was a very nicely done blend of medium rare seasoned steak (small steak portion IMO) black beans, tomato, peppers, onions, cheddar cheese, and fresh greens. The house jalapeno vinegarette dressing was truly amazing. The green chili chicken soup bowl was flavorful and full of tender chicken. Not too spicy at all compared to that which we have had in Sante Fe, NM earlier this summer. The lemon pepper grilled wings were good but not great. The lemon pepper seasoning was a bit bland but the wings were meaty and tender nonetheless. Owen loved his mac n cheese and chicken tender sliders as there was not much of anything left on that kids plate by the time we left. Dessert was offered to us but after all that food, there just was not room for another bite. Next time we tackle our dessert options!

Brad and I spoke briefly at the end of the visit to get some insights into the changes and the mission of Twin Peaks. I apologize for the bad audio on this video but I think you will get the gist of our talk if you listen carefully. If not, no worry, go on in and meet him for yourself and tell him Josh, the food blogger sent you in, he will greet you with open arms and give you a spectacular experience from start to end.

Be sure to look for there many weekly, and monthly themed events they hold, the lunch specials they offer, the 2–7pm & 10–11pm, M-F happy hour they have, and the many live music performers they have. Follow them on social media on Instagram and Facebook.
