Orlando Hash House A Go Go
My recent visit to the almost 1-year old Hash House A Go Go on Flamingo Crossing(FC) in Orlando, Florida was an absolute delight from start to finish. Nestled in a bustling hotel area next to Disney World Resort, this new-ish establishment holds the same impressive features of the San Diego location I got to dine at dozens of times past when I used to live out there. It also compares well with two past visits I have had at the Vegas location inside the LINQ hotel.
To start, I had the pleasure of trying their Big Old Chicken Pot Pie(wifes pick), and it was simply divine. The massive crust-bowl was flaky and buttery, perfectly complementing the light and creamy filling packed with tender chunks of chicken and vibrant vegetables and red potatoes. Each bite was a comforting reminder of home-cooked goodness, elevated to a gourmet level at a Paul Bunyan portion.
Next up was their Pot Roast Dinner(my pick), a hearty dish that exceeded all expectations. The meat was fork-tender, practically melting in my mouth, and the savory gravy infused every bite with rich flavor. Paired with fluffy garlic mashed potatoes and a roasted carrot, green bean duo, it was a truly satisfying meal that left me smiling ear to ear, belly full as can be.
My son opted for his favorite kids menu item, mac n cheese. He had bacon added and chose fries as his side dish. He openly said, unprovked, it might be the best mac n cheese he ever had. He nearly finished the whole bowl, which even for kids, was generous in size!
Beyond the exceptional food, the service at Hash House FC was exemplary. The staff members were attentive and knowledgeable, offering recommendations with genuine enthusiasm. They ensured that every detail of our dining experience was perfect, from promptly seating us to checking in on us throughout the meal even though we did arrive just 30 minutes before closing. Their warmth and professionalism truly enhanced our evening given our last minute arrival. Noah and Nick were great staff, the assistant GM, Lisa even came out to check on us a few times as well.
The ambiance of the restaurant was also noteworthy, striking a balance between cozy and upscale. The open and spacious design was tasteful, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for both intimate dinners and gatherings with friends without feeling cramped up.
In conclusion, Hash House FC not only delivers delicious food in big portions just like the other locations, but also sets a high standard for service and hospitality. Whether you’re craving a comforting Chicken Pot Pie or a hearty Pot Roast, this place is sure to satisfy. I just wish I lived closer to one of these spots for continued frequency visits!
